July 11, 2012 - Your Keys To A Successful Interview

Our July GPSHRM Chapter Meeting will be held on Wednesday, July 11, 2012, from 11:30 am to 1:00 pm at The Angus Restaurant on Scenic Highway. Networking and Registration begins at 11:15 and lunch will be served until 12 noon, when our program will begin.

We are pleased to have Shannon Lands, Human Resources Manager at Saltmarsh, Cleaveland & Gund, as our speaker. Shannon is a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR) and also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA), earning her accounting degree and MBA at The University of West Florida.

She has been a practitioner of HR for well over 15 years and focuses on recruiting, benefits, and employee relations. She has been a member of the Greater Pensacola SHRM Chapter and a member of SHRM National since 1995. Within our local chapter, Shannon served in a leadership role for 10 years.

Interviewing candidates tends to be either something that people enjoy or are less than enthused about. Are you and/or your managers prepared to interview a job candidate and ask meaningful questions that will provide the insight you need? Do you know the right questions to ask? More importantly, do you know which questions to not ask?

You, as a HR Professional, will not want to miss this informative session where we will discuss best practices for a successful interview. You will also be better equipped with valuable tools, which will assist you in making the right hiring decisions.

THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN APPROVED FOR 1 (General) RECERTIFICATION CREDIT THROUGH THE HR CERTIFICATION INSTITUTE.

Please RSVP using the RSVP link on our website or by e-mailing dauger@harvestersfcu.com. RSVP's must be received by Friday, July 6, 2012. It is important to RSVP so that we have an accurate head count for lunches.

The meeting cost is $20 for GPSHRM members, $10 for Student Members, and $25 for guests. If you attend as a Guest and join the chapter within 30 days of the event, you will receive a $10 discount on your current year dues. Also, if you RSVP for the meeting, but cannot attend, please cancel your RSVP within 24 hours of the meeting. Otherwise, you will be invoiced for the cost of your lunch. Thank you for your assistance!

We look forward to seeing you at the July meeting!
